Bahiana holds 1st Bath in the Forest

Activity celebrated Environment Day in the Atlantic Forest area of ​​the Cabula Campus.

The Committee Bahiana Green, in partnership with the Center for Integrative and Complementary Practices of Bahiana (CEPICS), held, on June 5th, the 1st "Banho de Matinha da Bahiana", a special tribute to Environment Day. The experience took place on the trail of the remaining Atlantic Forest preserved on the Cabula Campus, with the aim of bringing it into the community's daily life Bahiana "Forest Bathing", or shinrin yoku, a therapeutic practice originating from Japanese culture that aims to promote physical and mental well-being.

This practice claims that sensory connection with nature reduces stress, improves sleep quality, mood, and focus. Sixteen employees from various departments and Biomedicine students from the PICS curriculum participated in the experience.

On that occasion, the Chinese body practice Qi Gong (Chi Kun) was also carried out, led by two students. "Thus, the Bahiana celebrated Environment Day, inaugurating this experience that is an invitation to reconnect with nature and, therefore, with oneself, emphasizing the connections between the environment and health in the daily life of one's community", declared Professor Juliana Spínola, manager of the Committee Bahiana Green
