The interested eyes of the high school students at Colégio Oficina were shining throughout the tour held on the afternoon of last Wednesday, May 28, at the Cabula Campus. The visit was part of another edition of Bahiana For one day, a program of the Customer Relationship Center of Bahiana which aims to provide high school students with their first exposure to university, contributing to their career guidance. Throughout the month of May, the Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Maristas, and Anglo-Brasileiro schools also participated in the program.
The visit began at the Dental Center, where students were able to tour the facilities where the course's practical activities are carried out. A simulated nursing consultation served as the course's introduction, allowing visitors to experience the profession in action. Next, the group visited one of the laboratories where practical biomedical classes are held and experimented with microscopy, observing slides under a microscope. Questions regarding preparation for the selection process, how to take the course smoothly, and key tips were posed to the monitors of the Morphofunctional Sciences Group (GCM) during the visit to the Morphofunctional Laboratory, where the medical course was presented.
Preventing quality of life and health was discussed with the students during the presentation of the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. "Understanding Electrophysical Resources" was the topic of the Physiotherapy course presentation. The visit concluded with a discussion with the graduates of the Psychology program. Bahiana Jamilie Brito and Vitória Assunção on Myths and Truths of Psychology. Jamile says she participated in the Bahiana For one day while still a high school student, a moment that contributed to his choice of profession. "For me, it's very rewarding to speak with students and future professionals. I can also share the experiences I've had throughout the course and speak on behalf of Bahiana, which I'm so proud of, is truly a great thing." Vitória says that, throughout her studies, internships were crucial in her decision to pursue her career. "By completing the mandatory internship, I decided what I wanted. I'm passionate about the clinic." Bahiana and today, seeing the students there, I remembered when I met the Bahiana, in the Training Selection Process, when I saw a former student presenting the course... And today, here I am, taking on this role”, says Vitória.
