Bahiana is present at “Sertão Raras”

Students and professors of Medicine and Biomedicine courses at Bahiana represented the institution, through the International Research and Study Group of Medical Genetics (EpiGEM) and the Academic League of Genetics (LAIGE), at the Chapada Diamantina Medical Update Conference "Sertão Raras", held on April 25, in the municipality of Souto Soares.

The event aimed to provide training to Primary Care professionals in the area of ​​rare diseases and to provide care to the population with the disease. "Projects like this, which aim to bring visibility to this part of the population, are essential for the training of professionals. We are extremely grateful and happy to participate in this important cause that is sometimes forgotten by the health sector", highlighted professors Dr. Diego Santana Chaves Geraldo Miguel and Dr. Maria Betânia Pereira Toralles.

The group included the participation of academics Luíza Cajado Costa, Maria Eduarda Santiago Raña, Arthur Guimarães de Freitas, Laura Mesquita Costa Cunha, Ivo Vital Bezerra de Araújo and Isadora de Oliveira Santos.
