A School Bahiana was present at Bahia Brain Week 2025, an event that brought together prominent health and education institutions in Salvador, such as SENAI CIMATEC, UFBA, UNEB, Cepred, UCSal and the Bahia School of Public Health (ESPBA). Brain Awareness Week, promoted globally by the Dana Foundation and in Brazil by SBNeC, sought to raise awareness about neuroscience and its relevance to society, with a focus on brain health and neurological disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder and HTLV-1-associated myelopathy, which are endemic in the region.

Highlight for the opening event (10/03), in the ESPBA Auditorium, with lectures by Professor Juliana Barbosa Goulardins, on Neuroimmunomodulation and HTLV, and by Professor Aidê Nunes, on CHTLV/Neurosciences, integrated care and social mobilization, with the presentation of the fashion show of customized clothes by stylist Iêda Barbosa, in partnership with the HTLVida Association, linked to Expo Ressignificarte, and artistic exhibition of the Nursing Extension Program Cuidar Faz Bem.

On 13/03, the Bahiana carried out an action for its community, with a lecture by Professor Juliana on Neuroscience and Society, involving students from CAFIS and the Permanecer SUS Program.

The event reinforced the importance of raising awareness about brain health, especially in Salvador, where neurological diseases and conditions such as HTLV-1 significantly impact the population. Collaboration between academic, medical and government institutions was essential to promote community engagement and access to specialized care.
