Bahiana holds 2025.1 Freshman Reception

"I've entered college! What now?" This question has certainly crossed the minds of most new undergraduate students at the university. Bahiana, who were welcomed last Friday (07/03), through a live broadcast on the institution's official YouTube channel. The question was the theme of the meeting, which was mediated by the People Development coordinator at Bahiana, Prof. Luiza Ribeiro, the manager of the Psychopedagogical Care Center, Angélica Mendes, and the coordinator of the Common Core for undergraduate studies, Prof. Dr. Luciana Oliveira.

In his opening speech, Oliveira introduced the coordinators of the undergraduate courses and the curricular and extension activities carried out by the Bahiana, explaining the importance of a Common Core, with curricular components arranged in a way that serves all courses. "We believe that interprofessional education is what makes the difference. We have been training good professionals for over 70 years and we believe that these good professionals are not just good technicians, they are people who believe in a better society model, and that is what Bahiana has been doing so far.”

The program included a discussion group with the participation of students Brenda Araújo Sena Campos (5th semester of Medicine), Gabriela Ramos Vasconcellos (7th semester of Nursing) and Mila Quadros Oliveira Machado (7th semester of Dentistry). During the chat, the undergraduates talked about how they entered college and how they had been maturing during their academic training. At the end of the meeting, the dean of the Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, also left her words to the veteran undergraduates and welcomed the new students. "Seeing you here today makes us very happy, because you are living proof that everything we believe is important for a health professional and an excellent human being, you show us that it actually happens within our Bahiana. We are all together, with the same goals, working as professionals, as people and we are always learning from each other. So, it is with great joy that we welcome new people!"
