The Research Group on Professional Training and Practices in Health held a conference on February 15th at Campus Brotas, the course on Research with Secondary Data. Research with secondary data is essential because it allows the analysis of information in the field of public health policies, reducing costs and time in relation to primary research. The line of research is linked to the Research Group on Psychology and Diversity in Health, the International and Interinstitutional Observatory for Public Health - Colombia (OIISP) and the Professional Master's Degree in Psychology and Health Interventions.
"These data, from sources such as censuses, medical records, government reports and previous studies, enable the identification of trends, patterns and correlations that can guide decision-making and support new research. Furthermore, the use of secondary data broadens the scope of studies, favoring historical comparisons and large-scale analyses, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in several areas", explains the coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Psychology and Health Interventions and leader of the research group, Dr. Mônica Daltro.
The course was taught by Akemi Erden, dentist, public health officer at the Epidemiological Surveillance Directorate (SESAB) and master's student at ISC-UFBa.
