Bahiana For One Day concludes 2024 activities

During the month of November, the program Bahiana For One Day welcomed students from the Análise and Gregor Mendel schools for an afternoon of experiences at the Cabula Campus. The program included contact with professors and students from the institution's undergraduate courses. The program is an initiative of the Customer Relationship Center of the Bahiana (Relaci), which seeks to support professional guidance work in high schools, providing students with information about undergraduate courses and contact with the institution's academic environment.

Throughout the afternoon, visitors followed a circuit of activities that covered the Dental Center of Bahiana, where they were able to get to know the practice environment of Dentistry students. The students also had access to the Microscopy Laboratory, allowing them to get in touch with the routine of Biomedicine students.

The Physiotherapy course provided high school students with knowledge about electrophysical resources with a demonstration of electrostimulation. In turn, the Physical Education course was presented through an activity on Sports Science using technological resources. Nursing skills and competencies were discussed and experienced through high-fidelity simulators, carried out by a teacher of the course in the Skills Laboratory. The Myths and Truths about Psychology activity allowed for a debate about the profession, which allowed visitors to learn more about the routine of a professional psychologist. To learn more about the Medicine course, a visit to the Morphofunctional Laboratory was made, with the presentation of a clinical case and a chat about the course.
