Bahiana holds VIII Health Tech at Campus Cabula

Annual event emphasized the importance of scientific entrepreneurship.

Teachers and students linked to the Scientific and Technological Initiation Program of Bahiana participated, on the evening of last Thursday (12/12), in the VIII Health Tech, at the Cabula Campus. With the theme "Scientific Entrepreneurship: a path between research and innovative solutions for society", the event aims to promote entrepreneurial trajectories in health, encouraging the academic scientific community to develop innovative ideas. "This event has always aimed to be a space for enriching discussions about the challenges and opportunities of following the path of entrepreneurship", highlighted in her opening speech the vice-coordinator of the Professional Master's program in Health Technologies, Cristiane Dias, on the occasion representing the pro-rector of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies, Atson Fernandes.

In this sense, a lecture was held with guest Taris Maria Macedo (Startup PUBA) who presented the BioTech market, illustrating it with several successful cases in innovation in the area, in addition to presenting the step-by-step organization and planning of her startup. According to Cristiane Dias, the theme for the lecture celebrates the intersection between technology, science and innovation, in addition to highlighting how ideas developed in the academic scenario can be transformed into practical solutions for the benefit of society.

The opening panel was attended by the People Development Coordinator at Bahiana, Professor Luiza Ribeiro, on the occasion representing the rector Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the coordinator of the Physical Education course, Clarcson Plácido, representing the coordinators of the Undergraduate courses, and Thamiles Accioly, executive director of the Maria Emília Foundation, representing the research funding agencies. “The Bahiana "Congratulations to Thamiles Accioly for this new initiative, as we see how important it is to foster academic entrepreneurship and how innovation is so important for our society," emphasized Thamiles Accioly. The event ended with the Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani Award ceremony for the best works of the Scientific and Technological Journey, held during the Scientific and Cultural Exhibition in October.
