"It is very important because they come with great expectations to know how teaching and studying at the college works. So, I was able to explain to them that we are a school with multiple teaching methodologies and that they are active, where the student has to be doing their activities all the time. We also draw attention to the fact that we always seek to preserve the student's mental health and that Bahiana has a mental health curricular component, because it makes a point of showing students that they don't need to suffer to be a health professional.” The speech was shared by professor Ana Verônica Mascarenhas, vice-coordinator of the Medicine course at Bahiana, which received the group of 2nd year high school students from Colégio Anchieta, last Tuesday (30/10), when another edition of the Bahiana For one day. Throughout the month of October, they also visited the Bahiana students from the Salesiano and Portinari schools.
For Júlia Cunha Matos, a student at Anchieta, the visit was very enriching. "We were able to have contact with all areas, which was great for us to know what we really want to choose for our profession. I really want Medicine!", says the student.
Throughout the program, in addition to learning a little about the routine of university students in the Biomedicine, Physical Education, Nursing, Physics, Medicine, Dentistry and Psychology courses, the students spoke with professors and visited the facilities where the various academic activities are carried out.
