Cup Bahiana promotes social interaction and competitions in futsal, handball and volleyball

The "Snake Mother", as the Medicine Athletics is affectionately nicknamed Bahiana, was the overall champion of the Cup Bahiana which took place on August 24th and 25th, at the UNEB Campus, bringing together the athletic teams of Bahiana and invited athletic teams from UNEB, UFBA and UCSAL to compete in men's futsal, handball and women's volleyball. The event's organizing committee included the participation of teachers and students from the institution. The athletic teams also participated in the competitions Bahianas of Psychology, Physiotherapy, Biomedicine, Dentistry and Physical Education.

"The Cup Bahiana has this function of social interaction and this awareness in the context of health. Our desire is to encourage this culture of sport. We are very happy with the participation of the athletic teams of Bahiana and the invited athletic teams", declared the Physical Education course professor Roque Ribeiro Sanches Filho. According to the president of the Medical Athletic Team of Bahiana and one of the event organizers, Beatriz Sobral, the Cup Bahiana It was a fundamental championship to reinforce the importance of sports practice in the training of all health professionals. "In addition to encouraging healthy habits, the impact that sports have on personal development, the sense of community and the building of respect for others is notable", adds the academic.

She also highlights the interaction between students from different courses at the institution, which will contribute in the future to the formation of an integrated team, ensuring multidisciplinary care and a comprehensive approach to our patients. "For all of us, seeing the World Cup project Bahiana Getting off the ground in 2024 was a great achievement and it is an honor to represent the institution in environments that go beyond the walls of the faculty", concludes Beatriz.
