Collective publication of the Physical Education course is a semi-finalist in the 1st Edition of the Jabuti Academic Award

The book "Molecular Mechanisms of Diseases and Physical Activity - From Basic Concepts to Prescription of Physical Exercises", the result of the academic production of students from the Physical Education course at Bahiana, was selected as a semi-finalist for the 1st edition of the Jabuti Academic Award, ranking among the 10 best national publications in the Physical Education, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy category. The organizing author is the professor and course coordinator, Clarcson Plácido. The Jabuti Academic Award is dedicated to recognizing significant contributions in scientific, technical and professional areas. The awards ceremony took place on August 06th, broadcast live on YouTube.

The work addresses the innovative relationship between the cellular mechanisms of disease and the impact of physical exercise on the prevention and treatment of these conditions, a topic that until then had been a gap in the literature. “I believe that this innovative approach was one of the main factors that led us to the final of the Academic Jabuti", highlights Clarcson. The process of creating the book involved a carefully selected team of collaborators. " Bahiana has a very well consolidated training process in the health area, I had the pleasure of being able to select some students from the institution to work with me in the construction of the project", highlights the professor.

For Clarcson Plácido, this result is associated with the emergence of new opportunities and new experiences that will certainly boost the careers and lives of the authors who participated in the publication. “As the Jabuti Academic award is an event of great repercussion and recognition of academic literature in Brazil, this nomination puts us in a privileged position in terms of recognition, mainly for the investment made in the training of students and teaching staff”, he concludes.
