The meeting was promoted through a collaboration of Bahiana with REUPE.

REUPE is a network that integrates groups from different institutions in Bahia and Brazil that work or are interested in the topic of spirituality and is completing 10 years of experience in teaching, extension and research, with interfaces in health. Throughout its history, it has been building bridges with higher education institutions, nationally and internationally. “In view of this, we will carry out several actions and lectures throughout this second half of 2024, including a commemorative event to celebrate the current moment and to present the network’s actions during this period to the academic community and society as a whole", reports the coordinator from REUPE, prof. Dr. Marcus Welby-Borges.

About the lecture given by Dr. Kawika Allen at Bahiana, professor Mônica Daltro highlights the interest that the academic community has expressed in the topic, producing a broader discussion of the meaning and responsibility of researching the field of Religiosity and Spirituality in the current social and political context. “This type of event and partnership, at the same time as an invitation for people to learn about the Professional Master’s Program in Psychology and Health Interventions at Bahiana, also consolidates its objectives of qualifying professionals to exercise advanced and transformative practice, with skills to carry out research applied to intervention processes in extended clinics, outpatient clinics and in hospital contexts”, he declares.
