Professor Cristina Salles, leader of the Research Group International Center of Clinical Sleep Medicine and Research and professor of the Master's and Doctorate course in Medicine and Human Health at Bahiana Her work as a researcher was recognized by the publication "Pesquisadores de Destaque 2024" of the Brazil Conference at Harvard & MIT, which is organized annually by the Brazilian community of students and researchers in Boston. The conference arose from an initiative by Brazilian undergraduate students, with the aim of celebrating 30 years of democracy in Brazil.

The Conference at Harvard & MIT reached its 10th edition, being held on the 5th, 6th and 7th of April, in Cambridge (Massachusetts, USA), at Harvard University and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with the theme " The Meeting of the Various Brazils”. "This edition not only invited reflection and celebration, but also inspired the vision of a more promising future. Together, Brazilians inside and outside the country came together to shape this future, demonstrating that when we unite around common goals, we are capable to overcome challenges and transform opportunities into tangible achievements", says the introductory text of the publication.

No book, professor Cristina Salles highlighted her work in decolonial practices, such as the implementation and coordination of the Sleep Medicine Service, which operates at Hospital das Clínicas, in Salvador. According to the publication, the service is a space where patients find support for change and improved quality of life.
