A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, through the Tutorial Education Program – PET Biomedicine, held, on June 6th, the XXXI Science with Acarajé which, in this edition, addressed Aesthetic Biomedicine. To address the issue, biomedical graduates from the Bahiana Pedro Muccio, who, on the occasion, received the title of Petiano Emeritus, and Vinicius Said, who was honored with the title of PET Biomedicine Merit. “With this 31st edition, today we reached 4.500 acarajés, that is, registrations of participants in our event and 40 speakers, in these 14 years of existence”, emphasized the PET Biomedicine tutor, prof. Gabriel Queiroz.
In his explanation, Pedro Muccio spoke of his academic trajectory that led him to Aesthetic Biomedicine. In the scientific field, he delved into the benefits of intradermotherapy for the treatment of localized fat. “How to build a successful career in Aesthetic Biomedicine”, was the topic of Vinicius Said’s speech. According to Stephane Maia, Biomedicine student and member of PET, the topic was chosen because it is an area experiencing great expansion in Brazil and Bahia. “Our idea was to bring a different approach to Aesthetic Biomedicine, like Professor Pedro who highlighted how the different areas of biomedicine are important for aesthetics”, she declared.
To register for the event, participants donated non-perishable food, adult diapers, hygiene products, toys and clothes to Lar Amor e Vida. The initiative is part of the social action “Corrente do Bem”, developed by PET and which, in this edition, chose to include Lar Amor e Vida due to the fact that the institution works, at the same time, with children and the elderly.
