Bahiana holds the XVI Nursing Day and VII Graduate Meeting

Nursing Week, whose celebration date is May 12th, was marked in Bahiana for the XVI Nursing Day and VII Graduate Meeting, which took place on May 14th, at the Cabula Campus. The guiding theme of the event, “Artificial Intelligence in Nursing: challenges for management and new care strategies”, was discussed at the opening table, which included the participation of the dean of Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the coordinator of the Nursing course, Prof. Rosicleide Machado, the deans of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education Lato Sensu, Dr. Maria de Lourdes Freitas Gomes, and Extension, Carolina Pedroza , in addition to representatives from the Nurses Union of the State of Bahia, COREN-Ba and ABEN-Ba.

“Joy must be the tone of our XVI Nursing Day. I believe there were many years of construction, reconstruction and collaborative work. We also have the VII Meeting of Graduates, which gives us joy in welcoming back people who passed through here and who I am sure make a difference wherever they are, because, whoever passes through Bahiana leaves with the possibility of changing the world”, declared Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani in her welcome words to the event which had as its opening lecture “Innovations in Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Nursing Management”, given by guest nurse Márcia Viana, manager of Care Practices at the Hospital Pulmonary Cardio.

The program also included the round table “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Nursing Work Routine” and the Talk Show “The use of Artificial Intelligence in the health sector”, followed by the celebration of 10 years of the Cuidar Extension Program It does good, being finalized by the VII Encontro de Egressos. “Being here today is reflecting on my journey and how I got here. The amount of learning I had and the opportunities that Bahiana provided me, both at graduation, doing extension work, being a PIBIC scholarship holder, participating in events, as part of the organizing committee and, later, at my residency, which I did at Bahiana and, currently, as a master's student and professor of the Nursing course. Additionally, working as a clinical nurse at the Expanded Nursing Clinic. So, I am very grateful for all the opportunities that Bahiana offered me and how important this is today in my professional training”, declared professor Jaddy Kelly Matheus Alves.
