Bahiana hosts regional meeting on dentistry teaching

A Bahiana, through its Dentistry course, hosted and organized, in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Dental Education (ABENO) and the Regional Council of Dentistry of Bahia (CRO-BA), the meeting “Directions for Teaching Dentistry: scenario of Bahia and Brazil”, held last Friday (03/05), at Campus Cabula. The event aimed to bring together coordinators of Dentistry courses in Bahia, in order to discuss the new curricular guidelines and the evaluation of undergraduate students.

Present at the opening table were the coordinator of the Dentistry course at Bahiana, Maria Cecília Azoubel, the president of CRO-BA, Marcelo Arriaga, the president of ABENO, Daniela Lemos Carcereri, the coordinator of the UFBA Dentistry course, Carla Gurgel, the evaluator from the Ministry of Education Andréa Figueredo and the counselor of the CRO- BA Myria Conceição Cerqueira Felix.

The program of the meeting, led by professor Maria Cecília Azoubel, included important speeches by the presidents of CRO-BA and ABENO, as well as interventions by the coordinators of the Dentistry courses from the main Higher Education institutions in Bahia that took place at the throughout the day. “This is a historic event, where we brought together coordinators and members of the teaching-structuring groups of the various educational institutions in Bahia to discuss together the direction of Dentistry in relation to teaching, so that we can guarantee the quality of the training of the professional who will serve society”, declared Azoubel, highlighting that this was the first time that ABENO came to Bahia to speak explicitly about the curricular guidelines stipulated in 2021.
