International Sleep Research Group approves 25 works in World Sleep 2023

Event takes place from October 20th to 25th, in Rio de Janeiro.

The International Center of Clinical Sleep Medicine and Research Research Group, led by professor Iza Cristina Salles de Castro, professor of the Master's program in Health Technologies and the Master's and Doctorate program in Medicine and Human Health reached the milestone of 25 works approved at World Sleep 2023, an international congress that will take place from October 20th to 25th, in Rio de Janeiro.

Created in 2021, the group's lines of research are: assessment of the pathophysiology/clinical picture/diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders; assessment of sleep disorders and their relationship with quality of life; study of psychological changes associated with sleep disorders; influence of sleep disorders on cardiovascular disease. The influence of sleep disorders on the risk of falls in the elderly is also a point of research; influence of sleep disorders on pain.

The research group's objectives are still to evaluate the influence of biological rhythms on quality of life, cardiovascular disease, pain and falls in the elderly, the association between metabolomic findings and sleep disorders. The group includes professors and undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Master's in Health Technologies programs and the Master's and Doctorate in Medicine and Human Health programs.
