XVIII Pedagogical Forum of the Bahiana happens in digital format

The Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana came of age with the holding of the 18th edition, which took place on August 19 and 20, digitally, through the Zoom and YouTube platforms. With the theme "Democracy – Spread its wings over us", the forum was coordinated by the dean of Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, and by the supervisor of the Institutional Center for Teaching Development (NIDD), prof.^a  Ligia Marques Vilas Boas.

The first day of the event opened with the keynote lecture "The role of the University for a Critical, Creative and Democratic Formation", given by Professor Dante Gallian, from the University of São Paulo (USP). After the guest's speech, the participants integrated groups in reflective workshops, in which they were able to elaborate questions for a later debate with the speaker. In a second moment, in the afternoon, it was the turn of the guest pedagogue Rô Reyes to bring the lecture "Em Cena Ação de Aprender", in which she emphasized the importance of art in the teaching-learning process.The afternoon ended with creative workshops, which offered the opportunity to experiment with different artistic languages.

The second day of the forum brought important reflections on "Education, Health and Democracy", theme of the roundtable that was mediated by Dr. Maria Luisa Cavalho Soliani, with the participation of the scientist, researcher and professor at the Bahiana Jaqueline Goes, USP visiting professor and former UFBA dean Naomar de Almeida Filho and dancer and choreographer Deborah Colcker. Broadcast on YouTube, the panel had intense audience participation via chat. On the occasion, the Golden Borboleguim awards were also given to the professor of the Medicine course Ênio Ribeiro Maynard Barreto, to the pedagogical advisor Jucinara Inácio Menezes and to the coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Psychology and Health Interventions, Professor Mônica Ramos Daltro for her years of dedication to Pedagogical Forum and the Bahiana. The closing, in a celebratory atmosphere, was due to the musical performance of the artists Portella Açúcar, Veko Araújo and the A Outra Banda da ABOCA.
