Family:&nbsp;Leguminosae Origin: &nbsp;Brazil popular names: faveira, sombrero or palheteira. Natural occurrence: Northern states, Amazonas, Pará and Maranhão to Tocantins. Features: is a medium to large tree species, with a wide and leafy crown. Due to the peculiar configuration of the floral pieces, which resembles the female anatomical organ, it receives the generic name of “clitoria”. Usage: It is used in civil construction, as an ornamental plant, in reforestation and recovery of degraded areas, as green manure and in agroforestry systems. Other than that, it has antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antifungal activities, it is used both in medicine and in the production of drugs.

A few meters from the Campus Brotas, the General Coordinator is located in a central neighborhood of the city. The building houses the institution's Rectory, as well as our Management and Quality Center (NGQ) and our Planning Advisory Board (ASPLAN).&nbsp; In the Coordination's gardens, there is a bronze statue of the late Professor Humberto de Castro Lima, former general coordinator of the FBDC. It is an environment surrounded by nature and historical landmarks of our academic community. Here, our students can contact the Institutional Academic Relationship and Internationalization Center (REAI) and the Research Ethics Committee (CEP). The General Coordination also includes the Distance Learning Nucleus (NEAD), the Educational Technologies Development Center (CEDETE), the Communication and Marketing Nucleus (NUCOM), the Evaluation Committee (CPA) and the Department of Infrastructure (DEPIN).
 In this building are also located the Commercial and People Development, Administrative and Financial, Legal, Communication and Marketing, Institutional Development and Social Impact Business coordinations.

General Coordination

With three pavilions and a modern structure, this campus is located in a central neighborhood of the Bahian capital. Are 10 laboratories, 21 rooms of class e 1 auditorium to provide the ideal environment for academic and social development. Also on Campus Brotas, students, teachers, employees and the external public have access to a complete library with comfortable facilities and an up-to-date collection. Surrounded by a vast green area, this campus has 20 laboratories, 30 classrooms e 3 auditoriums. The library is also open to the outside community, with comfortable spaces for reading, studying and socializing. The environment has a modern and complete infrastructure, ample parking and social center with cafeteria.
