Communication in Health is the theme of the inaugural class of the master's and doctoral programs at Bahiana

The academic semester of stricto sensu postgraduate courses at Bahiana began on 15/07, with an inaugural class on the theme "Pandemic: challenges and achievements of communication in health", with the doctor and professor of Bahiana Robson Reis and mediation by the coordinator of the Professional Master's Degree in Psychology and Health Interventions, Dr. Monica Daltro. The meeting was held online via the Zoom platform.

The opening words were given by the Dean of Research, Innovation and Stricto Sensu Graduate Studies, Dr. Atson Fernandes. Present were the vice-rector of the Bahiana, professor Dr. Humberto Castro Lima Filho, coordinators, professors and students of the master's and doctoral programs, as well as coordinators and managers of the institution's internal sectors.

As an opening to the debate, Dr. Mônica Daltro brought up the importance of communication as a strategy to improve health. In turn, the speaker shared with those present his experience in relation to mass media during the pandemic, encouraging health professionals to use the press, classes, lectures and meetings to train multiplier agents in health promotion, always reflecting information that the scientific evidence indicates.
