Bahiana participates in the II May of the PICS

The activity mobilized several public and private entities celebrating the National and State Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health (PICS).

An extensive program marked the II May of the PICS, an annual action that took place from the 23rd to the 28th, with the objective of disseminating and strengthening the National and State Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health (PICS). The opening ceremony took place on May 23, in the auditorium of the Escola de Saúde Pública da Bahia (ESPBA), with the lecture “Flowering in Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health in the SUS”, presented by Professor Dr. Suzi Barboni, from UEFS. The programming took place in a hybrid format, that is, in face-to-face health promotion spaces and online.

A Bahiana, through its Center for Integrative and Complementary Practices (CEPICS), was one of the entities participating in the event that was organized by Rede PICS Bahia, in partnership with Sesab, with public and private educational institutions, with popular movements and other institutions and entities of the state of Bahia. One of the highlights of the event was the lecture "The Place of Ayurveda in the Current Health System", with the doctor and Ayurvedic therapist Dr. José Ruguê Ribeiro Júnior, broadcast live on the official channel of Bahiana on Youtube.





Between the 25th and 28th of May, face-to-face activities were carried out on the Campi Brotas and Cabula da Bahiana, such as Kundalini Yoga and Meditation workshops, with professor Himatdyal Kaur, of Bioenergetic Analysis, with professor Celeste Sá, of Mindfulness, with professors Marta Vanessa Souza and Marcela Gonçalves, and the experience Chinese Body Practices, with Professor Renata Roseghini. Reiki sessions were also promoted, with psychologist Elza Margareth and Heldon Patriarca, in massage therapy, with prof. João Cardeal, of auriculotherapy, with Dr. Gerfson Oliveira and Professor Renata Roseghini, as well as the conversation circle “Therapeutic Care of Ayurveda”, with Regina Puja Kinzer, who also provided assistance in the area. The lecture “Non-hegemonic knowledge in health education”, conducted by prof. Gerfson Oliveira and prof.ª Mônica Oliveira, and the lecture “Natural Agriculture in Urban Gardens: social technology to cultivate integrative corporeality in health education”, with prof. Paulo Rodrigo Aristides, Anderson Murilo de Lima and Dr. Rarielle Lima, took place in online mode and are available on YouTube.
