Parathlete and former student of Bahiana Renê Campos has just become the six-time Brazilian rowing champion. The race took place this Sunday, May 8, at the University of São Paulo (USP). According to the athlete, who has the support of Bahiana for their professional activities, this victory is important, as the Brazilian championship is the first official event of the 2022 season and participation allows them to meet national rowing athletes, serving as a basis for the next international events that will take place throughout the year.

"In my case, it is necessary to maintain the hegemony that has lasted since 2015 and that will lead us to be at the September World Cup, in the Czech Republic, representing the country", says Renê Campos, who is already planning his participation in the Paris 2024 Paralympics , whose qualifying stage takes place next year. "In this project, I would like to highlight the importance that the State needs to give to our training center in Pituaçu, which continues to be taken over by macro-tapes (baroness), preventing such important training in the water. Sudesb has been trying to have this dialogue with Inema, but it also seems to me to be related to Embasa", explains the parathlete.

According to Renê Campos, the implementation of this center in Pituaçu will help in its preparation for the competition in Paris and will also be an important center for the development of nautical sports in Bahia, "since we have a team of qualified professionals and the Physical Education course gives Bahiana, who made themselves available whenever possible".
