A Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública held, on the night of November 26, the V Health Tech. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was held in remote format, with live broadcast on the Zoom platform. In its 5th edition, the talk show brought to the participants the lecture "Impact-oriented startups: tech businesses that save the world" given by Jan Diniz (Dín4mo).
The Dean of the Bahiana, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the Dean of Research, Innovation and Graduate Studies stricto sensu, Atson Fernandes, and the Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Education Lato Sensu, Maria de Lourdes Freitas Gomes. At the time, Dr. Maria Luisa stated that the Bahiana it has already been adopting, since the beginning of graduation, the encouragement of entrepreneurship in academic activities, in the pursuit of scientific innovation. "We are not valuing the entrepreneur of himself here, which is the precariousness of work, but entrepreneurship that seeks proactivity, an active attitude that will produce innovation and things that will bring benefits to our society, to our Brazil, benefits that reverberate well-being for the population", he pointed out.
At the end of the event, the award ceremony was held for the Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani Award for the best works presented at the XIX Scientific Initiation and Technology Conference at Bahiana, which took place in October this year.
