Athlete supported by Bahiana will compete in the rowing final at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Renê Pereira qualified on the first day of the competition after winning in his category.

Bahiana Rene Campos Finalist Tokyo

The Brazilian athlete supported by Bahiana, Rêne Pereira, won his heat in the Single Skiff PR1 and already guaranteed a direct place in the final, on the first day of the rowing games of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. 

Renê Pereira competed in the battery corresponding to the athletes with little or no function in the trunk and started the race in the back, but, over time, the Brazilian gained speed and finished with the mark of 9:57.59, 35 seconds ahead of the Australian Eric Horrie . 

The final is scheduled for August 28, and the para-athlete, who is also a former student of the Bahiana, will play the games with great chances of victory for Brazil.
