Patrícia Carvalho wins 3rd place in the qualifying for the Brazilian Karate Championship

The karateka receives the support of the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública.

The athlete Patricia Carvalho won the 3nd place in the qualifying phase for the 2020 Brazilian Karate Championship. The event took place from March 4th to 8th, in the city of Natal (RN). With the placement, the athlete, who receives the support of the Bahiana, will dispute the final qualifying for the Brazilian Karate Championship, which will take place in October.

The competition was the first phase of the qualifying period for the national competition. In all, there will be 5 phases. The karateka competed in the Senior Individual Kata (over 16) Female category, in the Special Group (Purple, Brown and Black belt). This category will be present at the 2020 Tokyo/Japan Olympic Games and is one of the most disputed. At the event, athletes from the Brazilian and Olympic teams were present.

Patricia Carvalho is a student of the Physical Education course at Bahiana and has a vast track record of victories and participation in national and international events, being five-time Pan-American champion and three-time champion of the South American Games. The athlete is featured in Bahia and national sports, being chosen 8 times as the best athlete of the year by the Superintendence of Sports of the State of Bahia – SUDESB.
