As an educational institution dedicated to health, it is important that all freshmen enter the Bahiana can be encouraged to practice altruism and empathy. Based on this principle, the IX edition of the project "To be Bahiana is having health in the vein" was held on March 7, from 7:30 am to 12:XNUMX pm, at the Foundation of Hematology and Hemotherapy of the State of Bahia (Hemoba). The action was promoted by the Common Nucleus, with the support of Professor Luciana Oliveira and Professor Rinaldo Barros, in addition to the help of professors from all courses at the Bahiana.

Student João Lucas Cabral Campos, member of the Monitoring Medicine group in Biomorphofunctional – Macroscopic Fundamentals (Biomorfomacro), highlights that the monitoring teams involved perform the activity every six months, in order to sensitize health students about the need to fill the stocks of blood bags, which are often low: “It is a moment of learning and humanization for students, who are faced with a worrying social panorama. Therefore, it is important to raise awareness and encourage the act of donating blood”.

In addition to monitoring Biomorphomacro, the monitors of Biomorphofunctional Microscopic Foundations Histology, Microscopic Foundations BMC/Physiology and First Aid of the Medicine course participated in the project, as well as monitors of Biomedicine, Physical Education, Physiotherapy, Nursing and the Trauma League ( LT).
