Book on sickle cell anemia in childhood and adolescence is launched in Salvador

Professors Ana Marice Ladeia, Cristina Salles and Cristiane Dias are the organizers of the book “Sicklily Anemia: associated comorbidities in childhood and adolescence”, which will be launched within the special schedule of the inaugural class of the 2020 Stricto Sensu postgraduate courses of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública. The event will be open to the public and will take place next Friday, February 14, from 8:12 am to 11:XNUMX pm, at Campus Cabula. The book will be launched at XNUMXam.

The program will feature conferences and conversation circles on science, research and knowledge production, in addition to renowned speakers and mediators in the scientific area, such as prof. Dr. Luís Cláudio Lemos Correia and Dr. Luís Augusto Vasconcelos Silva.

The book "Sickle cell anemia: associated comorbidities in childhood and adolescence" it was prepared in the form of a collection and is the result of a broader process, which includes dissertations and theses developed in the Graduate Program in Human Medicine and in the Master's in Health Technologies at the institution. Therefore, it is a book suitable for all professionals who directly or indirectly monitor children and adolescents with sickle cell anemia. As the publication's organizers explain, "the collection allows for an understanding of the complex approach to this patient who needs multidisciplinary care".
