The first Wednesday of the month started lively. On April 3rd, 38 students from the Anglo-Brazilian College visited the Cabula Campus of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, to participate in the Bahiana for one day. The students were divided into two groups and took a tour of the institution's health courses. The project aims to promote professional guidance for young people.

The group of students was accompanied by the High School advisor Luzia Bacciotti, who reported on the importance of the adolescents' participation in this meeting. "We work at Anglo College with the purpose of exposing students to the greatest number of possibilities they may have, so the fact that they are in this university environment and realize how the daily life of this space works, brings them a vision of professions and how to choose what they want to do for the future”, he said.

The first visit was to the Dental Center of Bahiana. At the clinic, the students were received by the administrative supervisor Lísia Oliveira, who showed the structure of the Triage and Urgency Unit (UTU), the radiology room and explained how care works at the center. Afterwards, the students went to the Morphofunctional Laboratory and participated in an activity with the monitors, graduating in Medicine, in which they were presented with academic content related to various systems of the human body, such as the cardiorespiratory and the digestive.

The Physical Education Skills Laboratory was presented by Professor João Franco, who spoke about what sport is and how Physical Education is relevant in the academic and professional scope. At the end of the lecture, a practical javelin-throwing activity was carried out, so that students could work with effort and concentration.

The students also visited the Chemical, Physical and Biological Sciences Laboratory, at which time the biomedical scientist Emily Figueiredo (former student of the Bahiana) performed a microscopy activity and the visiting students participated in a playful activity with the nursing teacher, Cristiane Magali, with the aim of understanding about care and the relevance of the nursing profession.

Maria Antônia Bandeira, second-year high school student at Anglo-Brasileiro, shared her vision of the event. “It was great to know more about the courses. I was thinking about studying Dentistry and today, when I arrived here and got to know these areas of health, I also started to think about the possibility of studying Medicine. I really liked the explanation wheel made by the Morphofunctional Laboratory monitors”.

To end the tour of the Campus, the students attended a lecture by psychologist and vocational advisor Laissa Liguori (former student at Bahiana), on "Myths and Truths about Psychology", in which the following topics were addressed: how the Psychology course of Bahiana works and what are the facts about the psychologist's performance.
