I BAIANO SYMPOSIUM FOR THE STUDY OF PAIN - FROM THE MOLECULE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE

The Bahia Academic League for the Study of Pain (LABED), affiliated to Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública (EBMSP), will promote the 02st Bahia Symposium for the Study of Pain, on October 03nd and 2009rd, XNUMX, in the auditorium of the Cabula Academic Unit.
The molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the various forms of pain presentation have been the subject of intense research. Understanding these events has allowed the development of strategies (pharmacological and non-pharmacological) for better diagnosis and management of pain syndromes, although there is no established convention about the best approach.
In order to provide those interested in the topic with an approach that goes through all the elements involved in its understanding, the XNUMXst Bahia Symposium for the Study of Pain will have as its central theme: "Pain: From the Molecule to Clinical Practice", whose objectives are:

- Bring together researchers, educators and academics to update, debate and publicize pathophysiological processes and pain assessment, prevention and intervention;
- Facilitate the transfer of knowledge produced in basic science laboratories to clinical practice;
- Provide theoretical and practical support, about the importance of the study of pain, for academics and professionals.
