Share

Last March, the teachers from Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública participated in a meeting that aimed to reflect the pedagogical experiences of 2008 and discuss and plan activities for this year, within the guidelines of the School's Institutional Pedagogical Political Project. It was the V Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana which took place at the Academic Unit of Cabula and this year had as its theme "1952 - 2009 - Bahiana: one story, many authors”.

Contemplating the character of the Bahiana In addition to valuing creativity, the opening of the meeting included a theatrical presentation that represented, in a playful way, the visit that the Ministry of Education – MEC – should carry out to the School, next week, for an institutional assessment. The sketch “COMECTAKI” had the notice of the coordinator of the graduation of Physiotherapy, Roseni Ferreira and the Pedagogical Supervisor of the Academic Unit of Nazaré, Narciso Paiva.

Then, the program had a presentation by Profª. Maria Luísa Carvalho Soliani, Director of the School. At the time, she reported the history of the Bahiana over its 57 years. The presentation highlighted the main innovations adopted by the Institution in the last ten years aiming at its pedagogical and structural development, highlighting the inclusion of new courses, the creation of the Cabula Academic Unit, the implementation of the Psychopedagogical Care Center (NAPP) and the Pedagogical Supervision Service – currently existing in the School's three Academic Units. Another point explored by the director of the Bahiana it was the configuration of a new Institutional Political Pedagogical Project (PDDI) that expanded the pedagogical assistance to students with a team of 14 pedagogues, and which culminated in the adoption of the Training Selection Process.

Formative Selection Process

At the time, the new Selection Process of the Bahiana carried out in 2009.1 for courses in Biomedicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Dentistry, Psychology and Occupational Therapy. Teachers shared their experiences with classes that underwent the new model, which enabled greater integration between students and between classes and teachers, since the beginning of the school semester.

Innovative in character, the new assessment emphasizes the candidates' critical sense and creativity. In a first experiential moment, work is carried out in groups, with simulations of situations that reflect the daily life of health professionals. At this stage, technical knowledge is not required, but the potential skills required for their professional training are required, constituting a qualitative assessment, of a formative nature, with no concept or grade being attributed. In the second moment, a general training test is applied. In it, instead of evaluating specific knowledge separately, general knowledge questions will be proposed in an integrated manner, favoring critical thinking and the ability to apply the knowledge acquired in elementary and secondary education.

Agenda

After the presentation, the teachers were divided into multidisciplinary groups, where they had the opportunity to socialize innovative pedagogical experiences experienced during the 2008 academic year. Bahiana. With the development of the activity, the teachers were able to learn from each other, through reports of their experiences. This joint work proposal reflects the PDDI concept of multidisciplinarity.

In order to enhance the well-being and good interaction among its employees, it is a constant action in Bahiana the promotion of fraternization moments in order to recognize the contribution in the consolidation of the work to the institution's success. Thus, the V Pedagogical Forum was completed with the launch of the memorial of Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, followed by a get-together lunch in the green area of the Cabula Academic Unit.
