XI Pedagogical Forum of Bahiana (Friday)


"The importance of the Pedagogical Forum is focused on encouraging teachers to use information technologies, how to better use these technologies in order to improve their curricular components", explained Prof. Sandra Brasil, coordinator of the Institutional Program for Teacher Development (PROIDD ), responsible for the XI Pedagogical Forum of the Bahiana, held on August 14th and 15th, at the Academic Unit Cabula da Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública.

The program, which had as its theme “Incubating good ideas”, brought together the faculty of the Bahiana. The opening of the event, held on Saturday morning, featured a speech by Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, director of Bahiana and general coordinator of the Foundation Bahiana for Science Development, which welcomed the participants.

Afterwards, the teachers were able to enjoy an exquisite presentation by the NEOJIBÁ Quarteto Carybé. The opening moment was also marked by the celebration of 15 years of the Psychopedagogical Care Center (NAPP), with a speech by the technical coordinator Angélica Mendes.

The forum activities began on Friday (14), with the approach of current and important themes for the improvement of the teaching and learning process, with technology, innovation and entrepreneurship as the motto. To discuss the themes, professors Valdes Bollela (Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto – USP), Gustavo Bacelar (Faculty of Medicine – University of Porto) and Guy C. Hembroff (School of Technology – Michigan Tech) were invited. it took place through videoconference.

During the two-day event, workshops on innovation of the curricular components were also held, given by professors and employees of the Bahiana.

According to Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, the Pedagogical Forum is the biggest event promoted by PROIDD. “We brought together all the institution's professors at the forum and it is extremely important because we discuss various themes related to pedagogical issues. It's a very joyful moment in which teachers love to participate”, he concludes.

During the forum, the deposit of the first patent of the Bahiana. For Prof. Dr. Diego Menezes, Research and Innovation coordinator, “this was a great institutional achievement, as it places the Bahiana effectively in the ambience of innovative HEIs”. The work was carried out by Profs. Tercio Carneiro and Emília Ramos, both from the Dentistry course. They developed a device that helps the analgesia of the auveolar nerve in the jaw.

According to Dr. Diego Menezes, all the work was encouraged by Dr. Maria Luisa Soliani with the creation, in 2012, of the Technological Innovation Center (NIT), which had the support of the Research Support Foundation of Bahia ( FAPESB), through the program to encourage the formation of Local Innovation Systems (SLI) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).

On the occasion, the Research and Innovation coordinator also highlighted the participation of the Bahiana in the new professional master's program in the National Network on Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer (PROFNIT), approved with grade 4 by Capes.

“Many innovative achievements are being made and this is just the beginning of the work plan of the recently created Research and Innovation Coordination”, explains, enthusiastically, Dr. Diego Menzes.

For Professor Aidê Nunes da Silva, professor of the Nursing Course Extension, the forum is a moment of renewal. "It's a time when the Bahiana invites us to reflect on our teaching. When Borboleguim appears, incubating ideas, it starts to stir our inner self. It is the moment when we are invited to reflect and deconstruct, which is always challenging. And, mainly, this year's theme, which discusses the perspectives of humanization in the curricular components”, he concludes.

At the end of the program, the results of the workshops were presented and the best ideas from each group received institutional support for their realization and implementation in 2016.1.
