Bahiana promotes the 14th Dental Journey

Programming honors Prof. Antônio Pitta for his dedication to teaching.

On May 21st and 22nd, the Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública held the 14th Dental Conference of the Bahiana (JOBA). The program brought together students and professors from the various undergraduate courses in Dentistry in the state with the aim of spreading scientific knowledge, in addition to presenting workshops, works, seminars, workshops and courses.

The coordinator of the Dentistry course at Bahiana, Prof. Urbino Tunes reports that the 14th edition of the journey is an event already consolidated and organized by professors and students with the aim of disseminating the scientific work. “Joba is one of the biggest academic events in the country because it even has a very wide participation of several colleges in the state and this year we have 217 works submitted by students, in addition to the entire schedule of courses, symposia and seminars. For us, it is a great satisfaction to see this continued success, to see students actively participating in the work”, he concludes.

     

 

JOBA is an opportunity for students to present their course completion, scientific initiation and monitoring work and, according to the event's student coordinator, Flávia Godinho, the program is an amazing moment with effective participation of teachers. "The journey has the size of a congress because it is a very broad event, with a clear dedication of students, professors and employees to present a successful work".

In parallel to Joba, the II Meeting of Endodontics, IV Meeting of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology, the VIII Meeting of Dental Former Students of Dentistry were also held. Bahiana and a tribute to Prof. Antônio Pitta Correa for his dedication to teaching and commitment to the institution and to the Dentistry course. “This year I was awarded this honor and Joba is a consolidated scientific event in Bahia that encourages students in their search for scientific knowledge”, reports the honored.

     


Joba's teaching coordinator, Sueli Colombo, congratulates the success of the journey and the performance of the students. “The activities of our journey were carefully chosen so that students could make the most of the information, experiences and technical-scientific knowledge covered in the program”, he concludes.

The schedule motivated the course's students to organize the work and the 4th semester student of the Dentistry course, Verônica Vilela, reports that it was an immense pleasure to actually participate in JOBA. "I find the need that the Bahiana has to encourage the student to expose their knowledge acquired throughout the course. This year I had the opportunity to present a paper on the importance of oral health in patients with sickle cell anemia and it was very rewarding and constructive”, he concludes.
