XIX Forum of Researchers of the Bahiana opens scientific activities of XIX MCC
Event featured the presentation of works and delivery of awards

"We need to stop reproducing and start creating new solutions. Research is the main instrument to produce knowledge". Declared the Dean of Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies Stricto Sensu of Bahiana, professor Atson Fernandes, at the opening ceremony of the XIX Forum of Researchers of Bahiana, opening activity of the XIX Scientific and Cultural Exhibition of Bahiana, which took place on October 8th and 9th at Campus Cabula, bringing together hundreds of students, professors and researchers from various teaching and research institutions in the state.

The opening table also had the participation of the Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Education, Professor Maria de Lourdes Freitas Gomes, on the occasion representing the Dean of the institution, Dr. Maria Luisa Carvalho Soliani, of the Dean of Extension, professor Carolina Pedroza, and the coordinator of the Master in Health Technologies, professor Marcus Almeida. "This is an event that always brings the possibility of discussing research, of bringing together our entire scientific community and of putting together the activities we have been carrying out in this area. It is very important for those who publish, those who write, as it gains greater visibility here. ", highlights Maria de Lourdes.

On the occasion, Professor Atson Fernandes gave the presentation "System Bahiana of Research and Innovation: an overview of RD&I in Bahiana"; the coordinator of the Research and Innovation Center (NUPI) of the Dean of Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies Stricto Sensu of Bahiana, Amâncio José de Souza, presented the study "Systems Biology: a new way of embracing biology and medicine", and the coordinator of the Master's and Doctorate program in Medicine and Human Health, Ana Marice Ladeia presented the work “Assessment of an Intervention Project in School Meals on the Health of Children and Adolescents in the Backlands of Bahia”, which was recently highlighted at Planetary Health 2019, held at Stanford University (California), in the United States.

Awards
This year, the Researchers Forum awarded, once again, the Cardiovascular Diseases Group, led by Professor Dr. Armênio Guimarães, along with Professor Dr. Ana Marice Ladeia, as Research Group of the Year in the Consolidated Group category. The Neurosciences, Emotion, Cognition and Behavior group, coordinated by researcher professor Gustavo Marcelino, also received the award in the category Group in Consolidation, and professor Luís Cláudio Correia was awarded the Professor Humberto Castro Lima award, which recognizes the best research professor in the year.
"Research within the scope of Bahiana” was the title of the Panel Session, which brought together dozens of works by research groups from the Bahiana and other teaching and research institutions in Bahia.

Offices
On the first day of activities, workshops were also held: “Developing self-regulation strategies: mindfulness, emotional knowledge and self-hypnosis”; “Financial education for all”; “The illustration and the awakening of creativity”; “Active noises: encounters in love fragments” and “Workshop for the elaboration and updating of Lattes curriculum”.
