Why Medicine in Bahiana?
The Medicine course of Bahiana offers a curriculum that allows the development of knowledge, skills and technical-scientific competencies essential for the training of a professional capable of keeping up with current scientific and technological advances, also enabling the acquisition of skills and attitudes related to knowing how to listen, welcome and care of people. The methodologies used in the teaching-learning process are active and have the student at the center, encouraging them, from the first semester, to be primarily responsible for their self-development, with permanent monitoring from teachers and tutors. The use of realistic mannequins and simulations makes learning more dynamic, safe and enjoyable. During training, the course offers experiences in different practice scenarios of the Unified Health System, at all levels of care: primary, secondary and tertiary (family health units, emergency care units, outpatient clinics and hospitals). It also provides interprofessional practices, developing, among other skills, the ability to work as a team.
