Did you know that the disposable cup can take up to 400 years to decompose? It seems incredible, but it is not. The seemingly harmless object that you use for a few minutes and discard in seconds becomes garbage that causes environmental impacts for generations. To give you an idea, a disposable cup uses up to three liters of water to manufacture.

In Brazil, 720 million plastic cups are consumed per day, which, if stacked, will travel around the Earth one and a half times. Disposal in the environment is not just on the surface: the cup you use to drink water or coffee in the late afternoon, often goes into the ocean and causes the death of several marine species.

Therefore, thinking about preserving the planet and all forms of life, the Bahiana encourages the use of personal mugs and bottles, through the “Bye, Copinho!” campaign. The action promotes environmental education and reduces the amount of disposable plastic.
