Academic-Pedagogical Supervision Nucleus - NUSP

Since its creation in 2001, the Academic-Pedagogical Supervision has contributed to the excellence of the teaching and learning process and to the development of the institutional political-pedagogical project, following and didactically and pedagogically guiding students and teachers in the daily life of the school. It was born as a demand of the Medicine course, having become a national reference due to the lack of this type of action in higher education, particularly in medical education, including within hospitals that are fields of practice. Due to the results achieved in 2009, the institution expanded the service to all its courses.

Among other attributions, the NUSP helps professors and course coordinators, every semester, in planning activities, preparing teaching plans, and requesting bibliographies. It also participates in teachers' meetings, together with the course coordinators, monitoring and proposing changes and solutions needed to improve teaching. It is part of the Series Councils and has an important participation in PROIDD.

With activities in Campi Brotas and Cabula, the NUSP team is formed by pedagogues specialized in Educational Guidance, Psychopedagogy and/or Pedagogical Supervision:

• José Narciso Paiva;
• Lívia Meira Rocha;
• Luzenita Landeiro;
• Maria Luisa Cardoso;
• Patricia Argollo;
• Rita Prado Silva;
• Ruth Aragon.
