Why Psychology in Bahiana?

The Psychology student of Bahiana, from the 1st semester onwards, he has the opportunity to learn about different theories and scenarios of interdisciplinary practice, being encouraged to learn in a contextualized way, through the use of active methodologies, such as Problem-Based Learning. In the fourth year, the student is placed in a rotation system that allows him to experience four practice scenarios in an internship regime, at the primary, secondary, tertiary and work levels. This in-service training allows the student to develop progressive, independent and secure attitudinal and procedural skills, in addition to favoring a more conscious choice for one of the specific internship possibilities offered from the 9th semester onwards. Due to this extensive experience in service, structured in increasing complexity, psychologists graduated from Bahiana are highly valued by the labor market. And, even after completing the course, it is possible for the recent graduate to improve practical skills in the clinical area, through the Graduate Program of the Clinic of Psychology.

The psychologist graduated from Bahiana it is able to act in different contexts, promoting health and quality of life for individuals, groups, organizations and communities in a critical manner and attentive to the social dimension and the preservation of human rights.

It has a strong citizen education that allows it to act as a transforming agent in the construction of a more democratic and less unequal society, working in the psychosocial, psychodynamic, institutional and community dimensions. It is also prepared for the production and development of scientific research in the field of psychology and health, especially public health.
